About
Dr. Slaikeu is a resilience researcher, educator, and Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist with more than three decades of experience across clinical practice, higher education, and community health.
Her doctoral research examined resilience among Black women following significant life events, work that continues to shape how she thinks about health, identity, capacity, and thriving in midlife.
Through BLVCK PAUSE, Dr. Slaikeu brings together research, lived experience, education, and community to create more culturally relevant ways for Black women to navigate menopause and midlife. Over the past year she has engaged more than 300 women through workshops, events, panels, and community conversations.
Why this work
The work is not only about getting through menopause. It is about being seen clearly while you do.
