What it is
A documentary centering the voices we rarely hear.
The Stories We Carry centers local Black women as they speak about menopause, identity, change, and the things we often carry quietly. Healthcare perspectives add context to the experiences shared on screen while keeping the women and their stories at the center.
It was filmed in West Michigan, with women from this community, for this community, and it premieres here before anywhere else.
At the center of this film are Black women telling their own stories, in their own words.
